My Name is Susan Murray, and my journey into writing sprung from a life filled with adventure, passion, and, of course, animals.
Growing up in the UK, life took an exciting turn when, at 17, I embarked on a life-changing move to Africa. That’s where my love affair with storytelling truly began. As a mom to two incredible kids who shared my adoration for dogs, our household was always bustling with furry companions. Two decades dedicated to breeding and raising these wonderful creatures laid the foundation for what was to become my writing muse.
Their incredible journey from distant lands to our doorstep in the UK sparked something magical within me. It was their tales—of resilience, adaptation, and the bond we shared—that ignited my passion for crafting stories. From their international odyssey emerged my first website, www.ourpawsforthought.com, a platform where their adventures unfolded alongside my burgeoning writing career.
My path naturally evolved, embracing not just stories of our beloved animals but weaving in tales of various creatures’ significance in our lives. That initial spark grew into a flame that led to multiple websites, including comfortforpawsandclaws, where my writing ventured into the realm of children’s stories.
Children and their interaction with animals became a focal point for me. In 2016, I proudly presented my first published book, an endearing tale set in 1950s England that resonated deeply, especially across the pond with American readers. Alongside that, a captivating biography chronicling a family member’s post-World War II travels in a small Autocrat—no radios or fancy gadgets, just sheer adventure.
Both these books have found their way across the globe, nestled on shelves and screens, touching hearts and sparking imaginations.
